  Elida is a full-time student who is currently attending Florida Southwestern College. Elida is obtaining her AA degree in general studies to transfer to the University of South Florida to study biology. After completing her studies, she plans to pursue a career in Neurology. As a future neurologist, she hopes to dedicate her knowledge and experience to aid those who can not afford or access medical attention in her home country, Honduras. Elida believes the most important part of this field is the opportunity to impact a patient's life positively.       My desired job is to become a neurologist. Neurology is the branch of medicine that studies disorders relating to the nervous system. The nervous system includes the brain, nerves, blood vessels, muscles, and the spinal cord. Neurologists treat conditions such as Alzheimer's, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), sleep disorders, movement disorders, headaches, brain cancer, tumors, and stroke. However, neurologists can not perform surgery.  To become a neurologist, I would need to spend a lot of time studying  in college then transfer  to a university and medical school. The requirements to achieve this career start with obtaining a bachelor's degree. The next step will be taking the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). The following step is to get a medical degree,  take the United States Medical Examination, complete a one-year internship, and complete a residency program.
